Experience

Where I've worked and what I've picked up along the way, from junior developer to manager.

Roles

  1. Riot PlatformsCurrent

    Manager of Software Engineering

I lead engineering and a few of the teams that work alongside it.

    • I lead a cross-functional group of software and DevOps/platform engineers, alongside Riot's ERP administration team (ServiceNow, NetSuite, Procore), project management, and data analytics, supporting the company's pivot from Bitcoin mining to data centers and AI infrastructure.
    • I help set coding standards, run code reviews, and guide architecture decisions across a growing set of systems spanning mining, data centers, and enterprise operations.
    • I own SOX compliance for engineering systems (control design, documentation, and audit coordination) and help lead the team's work toward additional SOC attestations.
    • I run hiring and recruiting for engineering, building the team to meet what the business needs.
    • I'm working with the team to bring AI-assisted coding into how we build software. It has helped us deliver faster and take on broader enterprise applications without growing headcount.
  2. Riot Platforms

    Senior Software Developer

Software and automation for Riot's mining fleet and energy strategy.

    • Built software systems to monitor, maintain, and optimize Riot's mining fleet, scaling to support nearly 200,000 miners.
    • Led software and automation work implementing Riot's energy strategy, which supported company-wide cost optimization.
    • Took on more ownership of hiring and recruiting to help grow the software engineering team.
  3. Riot Platforms

    Software Developer

My first role at Riot, building software products for the business.

    • Designed and built software products that helped the company maximize mining revenue and stand up new revenue streams.
    • Facilitated scrum rituals (standups, planning, retros) for the software team.
  4. Frogslayer

    Junior → Associate Software Developer

Client consulting: full-stack web and mobile work, and a lot of time with the people using what we built.

    • Delivered full-stack features across web (Angular, Blazor, Razor Pages, C#) and mobile (Xamarin.iOS) for client products, including a store/employee management system and an agriculture-focused workflow application.
    • Served as Scrum Master for a 5-person team: daily huddles, retrospectives, and product demos.
    • Was the primary point of contact for key clients, for day-to-day communication, status updates, and application support.
    • Led a production migration from Razor Pages to Blazor and integrated third-party JWT authentication and GraphQL APIs.
